Orlando waterparks Volcano Bay and Blizzard Beach close to wait out statewide cold front

Orlando waterparks Volcano Bay and Blizzard Beach are closing this week due to a cold snap that has brought actual snow to parts of northern Florida.

Volcano Bay, located at Universal Orlando, is closed and will remain closed until Friday, Jan. 24.

Meanwhile over at Walt Disney World, Blizzard Beach is currently closed with a tentative reopening date of Wednesday, Jan. 22 — though the expectation as of this writing is that the closure might extend a bit further along. [Update on Jan. 22: Blizzard Beach will now also be closed through Jan. 24}

Temperatures will remain in the 40s and 50 locally until the weekend.
