Beginning Friday, Aug. 28, popular videogame franchise Fortnite’s annual Halloween event, Fortnitemares, becomes a reality as one of the scare zones at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights.
The game is infamous for its various events throughout the year and the ever-changing battlegrounds for its players. This year the battleground is going beyond the virtual world with an IRL incursion into Universal’s halloween event.
This new scare zone promises to drop park attendeets into a Halloween-inspired battleground called Freaky Fields, originally featured in Fortnitemares 2024. Sprinkled throughout the zone will be familiar characters and objects like the Battle Bus. New characters, exclusive to Halloween Horror Nights, will also be making their debuts.
And of course, there will be merch! A Fortnitemares scare zone graphic T-shirt, decal set and acrylic collectible piece is available in-person and online at Universal.
The scare zone joins properties like Sinners, Hellraiser, Stranger Things and Evil Dead at this year’s Universal Halloween Horror Nights, running from Aug. 28-Nov. 1. Tickets are already available through Universal.
