Today, the festival announced three of its four headliners – Sam Tallent, Janelle James and Rhea Butcher – keeping its closing headliner for Sunday, March 4, secret for now.
Friday’s headliner, Janelle James, has been named one of the “50 Funniest People in Brooklyn” by Brooklyn Magazine. She’s appeared on HBO’s Crashing and Comedy Central’s @midnight, and she toured with Chris Rock last year as an opener on his Total Blackout tour.
Rhea Butcher, Saturday’s headliner, is recognized mainly for her work on Adam Ruins Everything, that show that has clips pop up in your newsfeed to distract you from work, as well as Take My Wife, a show on the now-defunct Seeso streaming service created by and starring Butcher and her real-life wife, Cameron Esposito.
In addition to the headliners, the Orlando Indie Comedy Fest brings 41 national comics to town for the weekend to share the stage with 25 Florida comics for a weekend full of laughs at several different bars and venues throughout Mills 50 and the Milk District. Weekend passes and day passes go on sale tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 19, at orlandoindiecomedy.com.
