Visitors to the museum’s exhibition of Jimm Roberts’ Southernmost Art and Literary Portraits might wonder what drove him to build this collection, a photographic record of writers and artists in Florida. Roberts has said that the impetus was hearing Tennessee Williams complain on The Dick Cavett Show that America ignores its artists; Roberts asked himself what he could do to honor those living and working in his own state, and a series – or an obsession – was born. At this half-hour talk, free with paid museum admission, Roberts will recount the process of capturing these famous faces and hands on film. – Jessica Bryce Young
