Alchemy is more than just a hair salon, in the same way that Park Ave CDs is more than a record store and Stardust is more than a place to get coffee. The miscellaneous enthusiasms of the baby geniuses at this longtime creative hub sprawl in all directions, encompassing art, music, vintage clothing, yoga, surfing or whatever else seems cool to them this month. This second annual twilight block party is like a snapshot of those enthusiasms, a gathering of live music (Saskatchewan, Thee Wilt Chamberlain, more), cocktails, food (La Empanada, Fish out of Water, Yellow Dog Eats, Yum Yum Pops), bike tuneups by Ace Metric, a photo booth, a vinyl-only garage sale, vintage clothing, Bloonies
