In terms of local culture, the Figurehead: Music & Mayhem in Orlando’s Underground exhibition that’s been on display for over two years now at the Orange County Regional History Museum has been one of the best, most relevant showcases the museum has ever put together.
The extended run and community buzz around it can attest to the support. But as good things do, it’s finally coming to an end this Sunday.
From 3 to 5 p.m., there will be an official but informal concluding affair with many of the trailblazing figures, movers and shakers who were instrumental in forging the foundation for Orlando’s indie-rock scene as we know it today.
Go rub shoulders with local giants and send this landmark exhibition off with the respect it deserves.
Now, how about an exhibition on Orlando’s dance music history?
3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, Orange County Regional History Center, event included with museum admission.
