Orlando currently has nine Main Street neighborhoods, but if our friends living in the Milk District had their way, the area east of Thornton Park known for being the home of T.G. Lee Dairy would be No. 10. Being designated a Main Street means getting financial assistance, technical help and intensive training, and in turn, the commercial neighborhood district raises matching funds and creates a plan to strengthen itself. If you would like to know how becoming a Main Street can improve the streets around the Milk Bar, Pom Pom’s Teahouse & Sandwicheria, and the Drunken Monkey Coffee Bar, there’s an informational meeting tonight to learn how to make that happen. If you’re a little lost, it’s the place where everyone’s wearing “The Milk District” trucker hats.
