New Year’s celebrations are just beginning for many Orlandoans as we slither into the year of the snake. Celebrate Lunar, an event marking the Lunar New Year, is back this weekend for a fourth year.

The two-day affair kicks off on Saturday at Luminary Green Park in downtown Orlando’s Creative Village. That day features a large menu of Chinese, Filipino, Laotian, Japanese, Korean, Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. Booths manned by local vendors, cooks and artisans will be set up for guests to browse, including Meng’s Kitchen, Viet-Nomz, Mochinut, Nuoc Mami, Juju Taiyaki and over 40 more. There will also be live entertainment throughout the day from the likes of Dynamic Lion Dance Team, Koi Krew, the Jewels for Philippine bamboo dance, the Lake Nona Chinese Hip Hop Group and many more.

Sunday is billed as a Lunar Market, with vendors from Saturday back to table their wares. Performances on Sunday come courtesy of local high schools’ Asian American clubs showcasing young talent and a hip-hop dance battle.

Tickets for the event can be purchased online at Celebrate Lunar’s website, where you’ll also find more information on participating vendors and performers. Tickets start at $5 and go as high as $125 for VIP access.
