St. Augustine is considered the nation’s oldest city, established in 1565. These photos, gathered from the State Archives of Florida, don’t go back quite that far, but they do give us a glimpse of what St. Augustine life was like from the 1800s until the 1960s. Keep an eye out for shots of shopping hub St. George Street, the Castillo de San Marcos, the killer pool at the Alcazar Hotel and other treats.
