A statement on the official Walt Disney World website announced the closure.
“As part of our continuing efforts to exceed the expectations of our Guests, The Circle of Life is currently closed for enhancements. Please check back here for the latest updates and information about when it will reopen.”
The Orlando Sentinel pointed out that although the page does not include a re-opening date, users who click through the calendar to the side will find the ride return to normal operating hours as of April 3.
However, there is some speculation that The Circle of Life will not be returning at all, and instead will be replaced with something new.
The current 20-minute film features character’s from The Lion King spreading a message about conservation while mixing animation and live action segments.
Land Pavilion has also experienced the closure of the California-themed Soarin’, which is now being updated to include scenes from around the world. Soarin’ is scheduled to open later this year, as we previously mentioned.
Currently, the only operational attraction in Land Pavilion is the boat ride greenhouse tour Living With the Land.
The Circle of Life has been running in The Land Pavilion since 1995.
