Various local performing arts groups are gearing up to launch their 2026-2027 season, and among them is Central Florida Vocal Arts, kicking off their season at downtown Orlando’s Dr. Phillips Center with the much-loved Songs for a New World. The song cycle by Tony Award-winning lyricist and composer Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Bridges of Madison County) was his first major production in NYC.
It is not a play or musical theater, per se, but a series of thematically connected songs all dealing with “moments of decision” across history and culture. CFVA mainstay McKenzie Pollock directs and Chevalier Lovett leads the CFCArts Orchestra with a cast featuring Armon Flukers, Sean McKinley, Emily Minch and CFVA newcomer Sabria Sego.
