A commemoration of those who have selflessly dedicated themselves to helping improve the world around them (including Orlando Weekly reporter Monivette Cordeiro), this is Central Florida’s way of honoring its most effective grass-roots leaders. Presented by Central Florida Jobs With Justice, this year’s awards dinner is titled “The Art of Solidarity,” and with the voice of NPR’s “Marketplace,” Renata Sago, as master of ceremonies, the evening ends with a silent auction for social justice art by local and national artists.
