This upcoming Sunday is Easter, and while there are lots of traditional ways to celebrate, including some listed below, we found ourselves getting a little jumpy at the thought of stereotypical happy-face bunny invasions, whether they’re bringing chocolate or not. So we took a look at the calendar to see what sort of compromises might be out there to find a way to survive Easter Sunday.
B.B. King’s Easter Jazz Brunch noon-4 p.m. Sunday, April 5, at B.B. King’s Blues Club, Pointe Orlando, price varies (Yes, it’s kid-friendly, and yes, it’s brunch, but at least there’s jazz!)
Uncomfortable Brunch: Salo, or 120 Days of Sodom noon Sunday, April 5, at Will’s Pub, $10 (Get Biblical in a different way.)
Kara Walker: Harper’s Pictorial History of the Civil War (Annotated) noon-5 p.m. Sunday, April 5, at Cornell Fine Arts Museum (last day!)
Easter Weekend Open House 1-4 p.m. Sunday, April 5, at Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, free (go see Louis Comfort Tiffany’s “Entombment” window)
Wild Tales 6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 5, at the Enzian, $10 (Academy Award-nominated foreign language film)
Chuck Prophet 7 p.m. Sunday, April 5, at Will’s Pub, $10-$12 (go hear Chuck Prophet preach)
Easter Trivia 8:30 p.m. Sunday, April 5, at World of Beer – UCF, free (who needs the Easter Bunny when you can win prizes!)
