The newest Hoffman’s two-toed sloth was born March 24, and a Linne’s two-toed sloth was born April 2, according to Bay News 9.
The sloths each weigh between 6 and 19 ounces.
At first, the Hoffman’s sloth was not nursing regularly, so the animal care team hand-nursed the baby with a syringe every two hours, Bay News 9 reported. The sloth is now healthy and under 24-hour watch.
The Linne’s sloth is healthy and being cared for by its mother, while also being closely monitored by the animal care team.
Guests will be able to see the baby sloths in the park and at Jambo Junction in the coming weeks after the babies get bigger and stronger.
