Dogs from Apopka fight bust ready for release to rescue

In May, authorities in Apopka busted a dog-fighting ring while a fight was in progress. The raid resulted in confiscation of more than 30 dogs, who have since been housed at Orange County Animal Services. The shelter petitioned to gain custody of the dogs, and their request was finally granted. OCAS recently announced that it is now seeking rescue organizations who can help take some of these dogs on. If you are a rescue, and you are interested in working with the shelter to bring one of these dogs into your program, email If you want to volunteer to foster a dog locally, Orlando Bully Rescue is working to take some of these dogs into its care and posted on Facebook today that people interested in fostering can email the group at

According to Orlando Bully Rescue, time is limited for these dogs – all of them must have commitment from a rescue by the end of business on Thursday.
