According to the City of Orlando, a Lake Alert has been issued for Lake Formosa after a hearty stream of poop water was discovered flowing from a lift station at The Gallery at Mills Park apartment complex.
Thankfully, city employees were able to stop the flow, which was attributed to a broken pump inside the privately owned lift station.
The city warns that there is now a serious concern of elevated fecal coliform counts, and is warning residents to cease all water activities until bacteria levels normalize.
Cleanup efforts will start today, and will be overseen by a private contractor.
Warning signs have been placed on the Orlando Urban Trail bike path bridge, the shoreline of the Mennello Museum of American Art and at Lake Rowena Park.
A Lake Alert was also issued for Lake Rowena, which is connected to Formosa via a small canal.
