Top Chef Season 3 winner Hung Huynh cheffing at Morimoto Asia

Things are getting interesting inside the kitchen of Morimoto Asia.

It seems that former Top Chef Season 3 winner Hung Hyunh is now the restaurant’s chef de cuisine. Yuhi Fujinaga still serves as Morimoto Asia’s executive chef, but the question that immediately comes to mind is how long will a high-profile chef such as Huynh be content handling CDC duties?

Maybe for a long time. The man really does love to cook, and it’ll be interesting to see how much leeway he’s given to showcase the flashy brilliance he displayed on Top Chef, and at such restaurants as Catch and The General.

A manager at Morimoto Asia confirmed the hiring adding Huynh started his post as chef de cuisine at the beginning of the year.

Huynh was photographed a couple of weeks ago greeting young fan Erin Voelker at the restaurant, so consider this proof positive that he is indeed working in the kitchen.

Huynh is still is still a part-owner of Mamaling Asian Street Food in Palm Coast and I’m told he works in the kitchen when he’s not at Morimoto Asia.
