Sette from Se7en Bites owners opens March 22

It appears as though the old Brian’s Restaurant space in Ivanhoe Village is in for a period of stability after a revolving door of restaurants (Elliot’s Public House, Nova, Stir) came and went.

Sette, from Va Propst and Trina Gregory-Propst of Se7en Bites, will open to the public March 22 at 5:30 p.m. and serve a menu of rustic Italian fare, including pastas made from scratch, hearty stews and risottos and, of course, desserts.

The menu is yet to be revealed, but here are some dishes you can expect to see:

• Sausage, fennel and grapes
• One-noodle lasagna
• Mushroom pappardelle
• Lemon olive-oil cake
• Tiramisu semifreddo

A full liquor bar will pour specialty “Rat Pack”-themed drinks, and because the restaurant is named “Sette” (or “Seven” in Italian), there will be seven red, seven white and seven unique wines offered, all of them available by the glass and bottle.

Italian craft beers, as well as two local beers from Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company, will also be on hand.

You’d think Sette’s hours would be 7 a.m.-7 p.m. seven days a week, but no. Actual hours are: 5:30-10 p.m. (Tuesday-Thursday), 5:30-11 p.m. (Friday-Saturday) and Sunday supper from 1-8 p.m.

A daily happy hour will go from 4:30-5:30 p.m, and, in case you’re wondering, 7-UP will not be served.
