The flying theater takes riders to the Arctic terrain via real-world footage captured by the SeaWorld production team. The four-and-a-half-minute ride displays onshore and underwater ecosystems of the Arctic region that are normally inaccessible to humans.
The family-friendly ride opens May 1. It debuts at the park along with Uki, an orphaned Pacific walrus calf rescued in Alaska last fall who is set to join the walrus herd in the Expedition Odyssey Arctic habitat.
The adventure continues after the ride as voyagers encounter real Arctic animals, including walruses, seals and beluga whales.
Guests can get even more immersed in the Arctic adventure in behind-the-scenes experiences, including the Beluga Whales Up-Close tour, a firsthand poolside encounter with these distinctly social marine mammals.
“The newest addition to our park is unlike anything we have ever done before and brings to life the wonder of the Arctic in a way only SeaWorld can do,” Jon Peterson, Park President of SeaWorld Orlando, stated in a release.
