From 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, attendees can enjoy food, live music, prizes and a celebration of collectivism at Quaker House Orlando.
“Direct aid is people power,” FAN said in a release. “We believe that everyone deserves access to nutritious food and reproductive healthcare.”
FAN’s efforts include fighting for reproductive justice, providing resources to patients seeking care, and mutual aid across the Sunshine State. The group recently launched a statewide billboard campaign with the goal of urging Floridians to join in the fight for abortion access.
Neighborhood Fridge, a mutual aid community fridge based in Central Florida, is also part of the fundraiser. The organization has “rescued” more than 13,800 pounds of food to date, according to its website.
General admission tickets cost $20. Sliding scale donation tickets cost from $10 to $20. Donations of food and hygiene products can be exchanged for comped or partially comped tickets. Submit a receipt detailing which items are being donated through this online form by Nov. 29 to receive a comped ticket.
Bread, electrolyte drinks, dry foods, pasta, canned soups, prepackaged and labeled meals, childcare products and menstrual products are among those requested by the organizations.
Tickets can be purchased online. Monetary donations can be made through the same link.
