Panoramic implies a 360-degree view, and while no art project can truly capture every facet of a community, the Panorama Photo Project comes close. Through the ingenious strategy of simply leaving disposable cameras in public spaces like bus stations, coffee shops, libraries, gyms, etc. with instructions to anyone who picked one up to take photos for a week and return to a collection spot the organizer, Elizabeth Kruckemyer, made artistic collaborators out of unrelated passers-by, who shot and contributed individual scenes from daily life that, taken as a whole, add up to a sort of Portrait of Us. Large-scale prints of the images captured by these unwitting teammates have been displayed at Jeanine Taylor Folk Art, Downtown Credo and will soon be hung at the CityArts Factory downtown.
