The Miami Herald reports health officials say they are “conducting an epidemiological investigation in collaboration with the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,” but they have not provided further details about the case. By July 19, the state Health Department reported there were seven new travel-related cases in Florida, pushing up the total number to 283 travel-related cases, and additionally, 43 pregnant women who’ve contracted the virus this year.
Miami-Dade County has the highest number of travel-related cases of the virus at 88, while Orange County comes in third with 33 travel-related cases of Zika.
