The Great Southern Box Co. Food Hall in The Packing District has quickly become one of Orlando’s most recognizable community dining destinations, built around a simple idea: bring together local chefs, independent concepts, and shared public space in a setting designed for gathering.

That foundation isn’t changing. What is changing is how the space is operated and programmed moving forward.

Dr. Phillips Charities has announced that Pine Street Hospitality has assumed operations of the food hall, bringing a locally rooted hospitality group with deep experience in Orlando’s dining scene, including the successful operation of Walter’s Tavern, located on site.

A Local Operator with a Community-First Approach

Pine Street Hospitality’s role is centered on stewardship: maintaining what already works while enhancing the day-to-day experience for guests and vendors alike.

The transition is designed to strengthen the food hall’s long-term role as a vibrant community destination within The Packing District. For Pine Street Hospitality, the opportunity is not about reinvention, it’s about refinement.

The plan is for all current vendors to stay in place, ensuring guests continue to experience the same diverse mix of local concepts that have defined the space since opening.

A Long-Term Vision for a Growing District

The Packing District continues to evolve as one of Central Florida’s most significant redevelopment efforts, transforming historic industrial land into a mixed-use destination centered around food, recreation, and community.

Within that ecosystem, the food hall plays a central role, as a daily gathering place that connects residents, visitors, and workers across the district.

Pine Street Hospitality’s involvement adds another layer of operational expertise to that vision, with a focus on long-term sustainability and guest experience.
