A rare Queen Anne Victorian house built in Orlando nearly 150 years ago has hit the market.

The home is located at 614 Lake Ave. and was built in 1884 on Honeymoon Row, an Orlando neighborhood that’s part of the Lake Cherokee Historic Preservation District — it’s plopped right along the lake and just outside of downtown.

There are five bedrooms, four full bathrooms and two powder rooms, with traditional detail and historic architectural charm sprinkled throughout. The house still has its original millwork, stained-glass accents, a (non-functioning) elevator, soaring ceilings, restored hardwood floors and a grand total of eight decorative fireplaces.

There’s also a classic Florida room, a library and a detached, fully renovated guest house. Outside, in addition to the lake views, there is a saltwater pool, stocked koi pond and landscaped greenery.

The historic Orlando neighborhood Honeymoon Row was named for its six homes built by and for newlyweds along the lake in the 19th century. This house was built by Oliver and Matilda Poyntz before being sold to Annie Mallory and notable area figure William O’Neal in 1914, according to Orlando Business Journal.

O’Neal was a leading man of business in the area and served as a bookstore owner, a banker, an acting mayor, a city council president, a postmaster and a Rollins College trustee. He was also a columnist and contributed to the local journalism industry by writing regular dispatches on the city’s early history for the Orange County Reporter, the Reporter-Star, the Evening Reporter-Star and the Sentinel-Star.

The home is priced at $3,399,000 and is being handled by Parker Blanchard with Olde Town Brokers.
