Since public transportation in Orlando is terrible and almost non-existent, ride sharing is clutch and extremely necessary. Well, if you want it to stick around in the Sunshine State, the folks over at Uber need you to sign this petition and let your lawmakers know how much you care about getting home safely...and affordably.  The petition needs a total of 30,000 signatures and so far it's at 21,000. So, sign this thing and let's keep ridesharing alive.

From their site:

"Since launching in Florida a little more than a year ago, Uber has already begun to reshape the way we think about transportation in the Sunshine State. Riders are finding a more reliable and affordable way to connect to their communities, and have taken more than 6 million trips across the state. And local drivers are benefitting from life-changing income opportunities, taking home more than $50 million dollars on the Uber platform, and in turn, helping boost the state’s economy.

Although the Florida Legislature adjourned this session without passing ridesharing legislation, they still have an opportunity in the coming weeks to get it done. Legislators can finish what they started by taking up ridesharing legislation as part of the upcoming special session. If a sensible, modern regulatory framework is passed, it would enable Uber to create more than 100,000 new job opportunities for Floridians in the coming years while continuing to connect millions of people to safe, reliable rides at the touch of a button.

Ask Governor Scott, House Speaker Crisafulli and Senate President Gardiner to take up ridesharing legislation in the special session to permanently secure tens of thousands of local jobs and access to safe, reliable rides for all Floridians. Join us in advocating for greater opportunity and consumer choice during the special session — sign the petition today!"
