
Orlando Weekly has a new owner
In August, readers may have noticed that Orlando Weekly had been put up for sale by Times-Shamrock Communications, the Scranton, Pa.-based media company that purchased the paper in 2000. Just before Christmas, a newly formed media group announced that it purchased four of the alternative pubs that used to be owned by Times-Shamrock: Orlando Weekly, San Antonio Current, Cleveland Scene and Detroit Metro Times. The company, called Euclid Media Group, is based in Cleveland, and its ownership includes two Times-Shamrock alternative division veterans: Michael Wagner, who served as regional publisher for the company (and who has overseen Orlando Weekly since 2012), and Chris Keating, publisher of the Cleveland Scene.
