A woman with Orlando ties is facing an attempted murder charge in California after authorities say she fired multiple gunshots at the Los Angeles home of pop star Rihanna.
The Los Angeles Police Department identified the suspect as 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz. Investigators say the shooting happened around 1:20 p.m. Sunday outside Rihanna’s home in Beverly Crest, an upscale hillside neighborhood in L.A.
Public records show Ortiz has several listed home addresses in Orlando. It is not clear whether she traveled to California from Florida or how long she had been there before the shooting, authorities say.
According to police, Ortiz drove to the property and fired several rounds toward the residence. Witnesses told local media that some of the bullets struck the home’s front gate while others hit the entrance area. Rihanna was reportedly inside the home at the time along with family members, but no one was injured. Rihanna has three children with partner A$AP Rocky.
Authorities later tracked the suspect’s vehicle — described as a Tesla with paper license plates — to the Sherman Oaks Galleria, a shopping center several miles away. Ortiz was arrested in the parking lot, and investigators said an AR-15-style rifle was recovered from inside the vehicle.
Ortiz is being held in Los Angeles County jail on a bond set at roughly $10.2 million.
Authorities in L.A. have not publicly identified a motive for the shooting or indicated whether Ortiz had any prior connection to Rihanna.
News 6 reporter Mike Valente went to the address cited on Ortiz’s lawsuit, but no one answered the door, the publication reported late Monday night.
Local court records paint a scattered legal history in Central Florida, though none of the cases are felonies. In October 2025, Ortiz filed an emergency petition in Orange County court attempting to stop a concert by pop star Billie Eilish at the Kia Center in downtown Orlando.
In the filing, Ortiz argued the concert would cause “immediate and irreparable harm,” citing concerns about noise levels, traffic and whether a required loudspeaker waiver had been properly issued. The court dismissed the case as moot after the concert proceeded as scheduled.
Orlando Police arrested Ortiz in 2023 on a charge of domestic battery against her ex-husband.
Other records show Ortiz accumulated several traffic citations in Orange County between 2008 and 2024. Additional documents also indicate a 2018 drug-related arrest in Orange County that prosecutors declined to pursue.
The investigation remains ongoing.
