As we approach Election Day, your vote will directly affect millions of Floridians and their access to affordable health care.
Florida leads the nation in enrollment in the Affordable Care Act, ensuring that more than four million of our neighbors have coverage for pre-existing conditions, preventive care, and access to prescription drugs. Donald Trump tried to repeal it — and was unsuccessful by just one vote. We must protect our hard-fought progress and not return to a system where you could be denied for pre-existing conditions. This year, the ACA’s open enrollment period begins on November 1, and we anticipate more people than ever signing up for this crucial program.
Medicare open enrollment is also currently underway, with more Americans than ever receiving lower health care and prescription drug costs. I proudly cast my vote to ensure that you if you receive your health insurance through Medicare, you have lower premiums for prescription coverage, free vaccines, and monthly insulin costs capped at $35. Thanks to the Biden-Harris administration, out-of-pocket prescription drug costs will be capped at $2,000 starting in January and for the first time in history, Medicare now has the power to negotiate lower drug prices — all because of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
We are delivering real cost savings to American families and seniors. With less than a day until the election, I am sounding the alarm. These benefits are at risk if Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans win.
If they have their way, health care for millions of Americans could be drastically cut back or lost altogether. Republicans in Congress are actively trying to dismantle the IRA. This vital legislation passed without a single Republican vote — despite having overwhelming bipartisan support from the American people. The fight to repeal the ACA and the Inflation Reduction Act is driven by corporate greed, with pharmaceutical companies eager to roll back reforms and increase profits by keeping drug prices high.
It’s clear: Republicans want to take us backward. They are working overtime to rip away these savings, raise healthcare costs, and dismantle the progress we’ve fought so hard to achieve.
Kamala Harris and I are committed to expanding the Inflation Reduction Act’s benefits, lowering healthcare costs, and ensuring that all Americans have access to affordable, high-quality care. We will fight to expand Medicare’s prescription drug savings to everyone, ensuring that no American must choose between their health and their financial security. And we are committed to expanding the Affordable Care Act, including ensuring that access to over-the-counter contraception is covered at no cost.
This election is about our future.
The stakes could not be higher.
We cannot afford to go back.
Voting for Democrats to represent you in Washington means voting for continued progress, more affordable care, and a future where healthcare is a right for all Americans.
