If you've still got a SunPass transponder device that beeps, it's time to toss it.

After Dec. 31, the old device will no longer be accepted to pay for tolls, according to the Florida Department of Transportation. Battery-operated transponders are being replaced for new transponders that don't use batteries as part of a federal program to connect state toll systems.

Replace your device for free by calling 855-824-7927 or by following instructions on the SunPass Tag Swap website. You can choose between the SunPass Slim Portable, which attaches to the windshield with suction cups and can be moved to a different car, or the SunPass Mini Sticker, which is permanently fixed to the windshield.
