Lakeland students watch as 10-foot gator is trapped on campus

A 10-foot gator was safely trapped after wandering through campus at a Lakeland school, Thursday afternoon. 

According to Patch, the massive reptile was presumably on its way to a nearby lake, but instead decided to take a stroll through the campus of Geneva Classical Academy at approximately 2 p.m., on March 17. 

A video posted to the school’s Facebook page, shows a local trapper eventually lassoing the campus crasher shortly before the school’s dismissal. 

“Our students received a good Polk County education today: how to trap a 9’11” gator,” the school wrote on its Facebook page. 

It’s also worth noting that the man called in to capture the gator wasn’t wearing any shoes, which is incredibly Florida.
