A man has died after riding Epic Universe’s Stardust Racers, police say.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said off-duty deputies responded to a “man down call” within Epic Universe Wednesday. The ride is located in the park’s Celestial Park area.

The man in his 30s was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The sheriff’s office says it is early in the investigation and no further information is available as of early Thursday.

The Universal Orlando app says Stardust Racers is “closed today.”

Stardust Racers is a dual-launch coaster that reaches speeds up to 62 mph and heights up to 133 feet across the 5,000 total feet of track. The height requirement is 48 inches, and it is classified as a “thrill ride.”

This is a developing post.
