George Zimmerman, a month after his acquittal in the killing of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin and last seen evading a speeding ticket somewhere in Texas, decided a trip to Kel-Tec—the company that manufactured the PF-9 he used to shoot Trayvon—was in order, and the Cocoa company apparently rolled out the red carpet, according to TMZ (and there’s a phrase—“according to TMZ”—I heretofore have managed to go my entire professional career without using; thanks, George):
Zimmerman went to Kel-Tec in Cocoa, Florida … a gun manufacturing company. We’re told he was asking questions about the legality of buying a shotgun—specifically, the Kel-Tec KSG.The gun in question is a tactical shotgun, often used for home defense. It holds 12 rounds of 12 gauge shells.
This is the gun Zimmerman either bought or wants to buy.
According to TMZ—there it is again—“the owner’s son took Zimmerman on a tour of the grounds, including the area where the firearms are assembled.”
A hero’s welcome, then.
