Florida woman says she was using her 'white privilege for the right reasons,' after punching alleged racist

A Florida woman featured in a now-viral video showing her punching an alleged racist in the head says she was standing up for minorities by using her white privilege.

In the video above, Miami resident Colleen Dagg is seen being taunted by a woman in a teal dress, who was later identified as Summer Cortts of Boca Raton. Cortts allegedly said something racist to Dagg about Haitians before the video started.

"Why are you taking your shoes off?" Cortts asks. "You gonna hit me with one of your shoes? I'm gonna fucking shoot you in your fucking face." Cortts then shoves Dagg, who promptly punches her repeatedly in the head.
After the fight is broken up, Cortts says that she is three months pregnant and that Dagg will consequently be sent to jail.

According to the Miami New Times, the fight originally took place Aug. 22 at a La Quinta Inn in Coral Springs, Florida. The Coral Springs Police Department has charged Cortts with disorderly conduct and inciting an affray.

While Dagg has reportedly declined to pursue battery charges, she has since responded to the situation on Twitter, saying "Fighting racism is dependent on me using my white privilege for the right reasons."
