Mills 50 mourned when Peacock Room came to its confusing conclusion at the end of October, but murmurings along Mills revealed that the much-loved watering hole could benefit from a fresh outpouring of creative bar culture, with Bar-BQ Bar's Ashley Dishman and Hurst Marshall supposedly eying the space as the destination for their next venue adventure. This morning, we heard from Dishman who confirmed the rumor is true, and she begins her lease at Peacock Room (1321 N. Mills Ave.) and the adjacent space next door (1319 N. Mills Ave.) today, Monday, Dec. 1. Happy moving day!

Dishman estimates the bar will be open in spring 2015. As of now, she cannot disclose what the bar will be called or how it will be themed. We can only imagine what's kicking around her head after hearing her awesome insights into the back-stories on former bars Eye Spy and Sky Sixty. Feel free to speculate on cool themes and bar names in the comments.

Then and now: Bar-BQ-Bar photos demonstrate the dive’s unruly nature
