Meet Oakley!

Oakley (A575817) is a sweet and goofy 1-year-old stray that was brought in when a resident found him running loose around their neighborhood. The first thing anyone will notice about Oakley is his cleft lip. Thankfully the deformity doesn’t seem to cause him any pain or discomfort. Oakley is a friendly, outgoing guy who does well with people and other dogs. He has stolen our hearts and we’re absolutely shocked no one has been won over yet by this precious face.

Oakley has been with us less than a month, but has easily become a shelter favorite. His sweetness, his puppy attitude and energy, and his friendliness make him one of the more fun dogs to take out. Sadly, we think his cleft lip may be what’s keeping him from being adopted. We don’t understand it, as it causes no discomfort or health issues. Oakley doesn’t even seem to know there is anything different about him. We’re hoping featuring him like this will show him in a different light, and that maybe, just maybe, someone will look past his “imperfection” and into the heart of a truly amazing dog.
