On Saturday, April 1, a search-and-rescue effort ended sadly after divers recovered the body of a man who vanished while tubing on Lake Ivanhoe.

According to the Orlando Fire Department, the man, who has since been identified as 36-year-old Jason Seifer, jumped off the inner tube while the boat sat anchored 150 feet from the dock and then never resurfaced.

After realizing something was wrong, two friends jumped in to search for the man, but were ultimately unsuccessful. They proceeded to dock their boat so they could contact authorities.

At around 5:40 p.m. divers began searching for the body and ultimately found him at around 8:30 p.m. using sonar equipment.

The man was found in roughly 20 feet of water on the east side of the lake, near I-4.
