Last Saturday, June 27th, Pembroke Pines resident Tim Nicholls was riding his road bike when he ran into a two foot alligator carcass that had been previously crushed by a car.

Riding in a group of roughly 40 cyclists, known as Weston Vello, the road bikers were sprinting at speeds of nearly 30 mph on State Road 84, before they came across the smashed up remains of a baby alligator.

A few riders hit the guts and fell, including Nicholls, who's face skidded along the pavement and was then run over by riders behind him.

Nicholls is currently in intensive care at Broward Health Medical Center with multiple facial fractures, five broken ribs, a broken clavicle and a collapsed lung, as reported by the Sun Sentinel.
