Recently lauded by TLU's Bao Le-Huu for her "beautiful jazz voice that can captivate with just the faintest exhalation" and picked as a local musician to keep an eye on, we can only add that we were captivated by Zoya Zafar's recent set at a house show. We sat raptly at her feet as she performed with a quiet intensity putting her in line with the opening chords of "Cocovado" and Weyes Blood's elegant phrasing. Monday, Zafar headlines the big stage at Will's alongside a grouping of other emerging locals. Attend to either chase the winter blues away or embrace them fully.
