Worth the Drive: Big Guava Music Festival in Tampa (the Strokes, Run the Jewels, more)

If Coachella was too far a trek but you’re seeking that festival environment a little closer to him, Big Guava Music Festival provides a similar experience right in our own backyard next weekend.

Over Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9, make your way to Tampa’s Florida State Fairgrounds and MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre for two days of music, food, and rides. Although two-day and single-day passes are still available, options are now limited to the general admission ($115 two-day; $55 Friday; $70 Saturday) or Super Guava Reserved options ($350 two-day; $150 Friday; $200 Saturday), as all other ticket choices are sold out.

With good reason, too. Have you seen that lineup? Talk about variety. This year’s bill features big names like the Strokes, Pixies, Death From Above 1979, Passion Pit, TV On the Radio, James Blake, Banks, Run the Jewels and Action Bronson, among many more.

Find the full lineup of rides, craft beers, and food trucks here.
