After the ascent from strong local gigging and a good nationally released 2009 record (Ma Raison de Vivre Ton Amour), brotherly DeLand group Dish went through a seismic, fundamental shift that found them playing less and less until seemingly going – poof! – into thin air. Now, it’s primarily the vehicle for leader Roberto Aguilar, who’s been aggressively honing his solo craft. This appearance, however, is a full-band performance and will be the first show to officially bring Dish out of dormancy. Although the old favorites will be rendered royally with a full cast, the real anticipation is for the first taste of the band’s new material, which we’re told will push their quirky folk sound away from previous jazz and Latin influences and into new directions like surf and garage rock. – Bao Le-Huu (with Captain, Hellhound Librarians, Matt Robins; 8 p.m. at the Social, 54 N.
