Bass Music x Hip-Hop happens at West End Trading Credit: Photo courtesy Dizzlephunk/Facebook
When last we checked in with ever-busy Orlando DJ and musician Dizzlephunk, his band Universal Funk Orchestra had just released their latest album. The eclectic spinner is this week sporting his curator’s cap, assembling a “Bass Music x Hip-Hop” evening in Sanford, featuring performers from all around the Central Florida region.

So you’ve got MCs Big Win and JaWaan LaRue, along with DJ sets from Kaizo, Jackie Boi, TelepaV, Jake Lock and a team-up betwixt Dizzlephunk and percussion mastermind Chris LeBrane — where decks and drums fight to the funky death.

“I always try to bring new and upcoming artists together who I feel represent the culture and are consciously contributing to the scene,” the Phunky one tells us. “They have been pushing the boundaries of electronic and hip-hop music.” Who are we to doubt him?
