Philly's Guests go full Cold War at Stardust Video & Coffee

In the finest crossover of communism and underground music since the New York Dolls donned red leather and played behind a lurid hammer-and-sickle (in the South no less), Philadelphia synth-pop apparatchiks the Guests are ready to provide the soundtrack for you to dance on the shallow grave of capitalism. And what a soundtrack, comrades! Guests aim for a lush, epic, hook-laden manifesto that conjures up visions of Duran Duran, Talk Talk and the (fucking) Sound, satisfying in a way that is usually reserved for seizing the means of production from the oligarchy, or blasting a cassette of Ocean Rain in the middle of the night in the woods with a bunch of your loved ones. The local opener lineup is downright stellar, with new radicals Julee Bruise, Harsh Radish and Computer Date joined by Brian “Yip Yip” Esser’s new project, Cabo Boing. Da!
