In just a few short days, punk bands from across the world descend on the City Beautiful for Foreign Dissent, Orlando’s yearly International Punk Rock Party. A labor of love organized by local promoter Craig Mazer, this year features bands from Italy, Chile, Panama and England.

The bands come to Orlando en route to Fest, Gainesville’s annual punk pilgrimage featuring hundreds of bands from all corners, near and far. Bands like the Loyal Cheaters, one of many bands from Italy taking the Will’s Pub stage, who are on their first U.S. tour.

Lena McFrison from the band describes their music as “turbo rock ’n’ roll. We are heavily influenced by punk as well — we like it raw!” Costs and customs add up, and without knowing local promoters, it’s difficult to book shows. Foreign Dissent offers locals an international showcase, and the chance for bands to build a global fanbase.

7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, Will’s Pub, $20.
