After releasing a full-length debut of impressive indie-rock shimmer last July (Frightened), Athens, Ga.’s Easter Island followed up less than a couple months later by coming to town and delivering a head-dizzying, breath-stealing performance at Will’s Pub. As dynamic as it is lovely, their sound weaves together some of the most tasteful indie strands – coaxing dream-pop, skyscraping post-rock and richly textured shoegaze – in ways that are surprisingly natural and beautiful. And with deep, sophisticated arrangements, they’ve already proven a remarkably well-formed, well-conceived musical unit. We saw their last Orlando show and were pretty floored, so trust us when we tell you that this very promising band is one to watch – first in person at this show, and then on the music radar from here on out. – Bao Le-Huu
