Florida native and four-time Tony Award winner LaChanze is set to perform a solo cabaret at the Renaissance Theatre Monday.

The Broadway veteran returns to her Florida home for a night dedicated to raising funds for the local theater. Originally from St. Augustine, the actress kickstarted her Broadway journey with Uptown … It’s Hot!, and later starred in Once On This Island — originating the role of Ti Moune and earning her first Tony nomination. In the 2005 production of The Color Purple, she played Celie and won the Tony for Best Actress in a Musical.

Just recently, she took home her fifth Tony as the producer of Purpose, which won the 2025 Tony Award for Best Play. The Ren’s house band will accompany LaChanze during her performance of career highlights.

8 p.m. Monday, June 30, Renaissance Theatre Co., $30.
