After closing temporarily to facilitate a franchisee change, Shipley Do-Nuts has reopened at 2255 S. Semoran Blvd. near Curry Ford Road. They’ll celebrate their grand reopening March 27 and a Community Appreciation Day March 28 …

After Backhaus closed in Ivanhoe Village back in 2020, the neighborhood was left without a bakery. But Olde Hearth Bread Co. will soon fill the void when it opens at 1231 N. Orange Ave. this May, offering everything from baguettes and sourdough boules to croissants and raspberry tarts, plus a few pastry experimentations …

Unplugged Social Cafe has opened at 8267 International Drive, featuring ethically sourced coffee, dirty sodas, locally sourced pastries, soups, sandwiches and salads by day — and wine, charcuterie and small bites by night … Uma Sushi & Ramen has opened in the old Takumi Ramen space at 486 N. Orange Ave. near Amelia St. downtown … The Human Bean is sustaining early risers at 234 E. State Road 434 in Winter Springs with a menu of coffees, frozen espresso blended “granitas,” real fruit smoothies and energy drinks …

Another Thai restaurant, Lert Thai Street Food, from the same owners as the recently opened Budsaba Thai Bistro in the Chickasaw Plaza, has opened in the UCF corridor at 12094 Collegiate Way in the former Mochinut space.

Orlando food events:

Perla’s Pizza and Smoke & Donuts will collaborate on a one-night-only event in the Milk District from 6-9 p.m. Monday, March 30, featuring drink specials and a special menu (smoked meatballs, spicy rigatoni, grandma pie, griddled donut “tiramisu”) by chefs Michael Collantes and Ian Russell. The pair will be spinning vinyl as well. Admission is free.

Gather & Graze, an outdoor food event benefiting The Kitchen House, goes from 5-7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at Lake Meadow Naturals Farm in Ocoee. The event features bites from Melissa Kelly (Primo), Fabrizio Schenardi (Four Seasons Resort Orlando), Lordfer Lalicon (Kaya), Wendy Lopez (Reyes Mezcaleria/Sparrow), Kevin Fonzo (La Tavola), Jamie McFadden (Cuisiniers), Tim Keating, Ryan Sand and Gwendolyn Rogers (The Cake Bake Shop at Disney World).
