Leave the kiddos at home and spend the evening at the Science Center without them for a change.

On the evening of April 29, the Science of Wine event will bring 150 wines from the world's major wine-producing regions — both New World and Old — to sample, as well as paired bites from local dining spots like Norman's, Black Rooster Taqueria, Shin Jung Korean BBQ and Tapa Toro.

Interactive demos and talks from culinary experts and educators are on deck, too, including Rhys and Alexia Gawlak from Swine & Sons.

General admission price is $125, but if you buy your tickets before Sunday, take $15 off. If you're an OSC member, discounted tickets are $100.

If you've ever rolled your eyes at the guy at the next table spewing off wine words — on the nose, long finish, tannins — as he sips and savors, don't beat 'em, join 'em.
