The Gourmet Muffin opened its doors for the first time at 2909 Corrine Drive last Thursday.
Just across the street from Park Ave CDs, Gourmet Muffin offers a wide selection of breakfast and dessert items such as cookies, biscotti and dessert bars, with vegan and gluten-free options included. They even have some house-made drinks, like their sparkling lemonade made with fresh-squeezed lemons.
This isn't its first rodeo; the Gourmet Muffin has been selling its confections at the Lakeland, Ocala and Audubon Park farmers markets for a while, but this is their first brick-and-mortar establishment.
If you want to stop by and see what all the fuss is about, you'll need to get there early. They typically open bright and early, around 7 or 8 a.m., but by 2 p.m. all of their treats could be gone, which means they'll be closing up shop for the day.
