The Delaney
We told you this week about Doc's Streetside Grille closing and how the space will soon give way to a 54-room boutique hotel with restaurant called "The Delaney." Well, now we have some additional details.

The restaurant will be called "Delaney's Tavern" and will feature "New American cuisine, small plates, and shareables" says Greg Allowe, executive vice-president of the management company overseeing the project. "It will be a twist on a gastropub, with craft beers" along with "friendly fare and spirits," as the restaurant's tagline suggests. A warm and charming interior ("not too rustic") will feature those all-too-trendy Edison bulbs as well as indoor/outdoor sliders. A 360-degree bar will be a main focal point.

The hotel and restaurant will be eco-friendly and LEED-certified (think vegetable-based amenities, soy ink stationery, LED lighting) and will have a recycling program as well as a solar component to minimize its carbon footprint.

The block, located across the street from Orlando Health. is owned by the 1405 South Orange Partnership, headed by Dr. Tom Winters. Renovations of the site are expected to be completed in 12-14 months, although, based on the molasses-slow permitting process we've observed recently, that may be an extremely optimistic estimate.
