Back in March of 2017, the
Copper Rocket Pub in Maitland was "rescued" by Jon Taffer and his Spike TV reality show
Bar Rescue, and for some reason this episode has yet to air.
Last season (Season 5) came to a close without a single clip of host Jon Taffer smashing plates or yelling his catchphrase "Shut it down" to former owner Selman Markovic.
We're not sure why this is.
Does it have anything to do with
Markovic selling the bar only a few months after filming the episode to music merchandising company AKT? Or maybe it has something to do with Spike recently getting gutted and rebranded as the Paramount Network?
We reached out to
Bar Rescue's production team last summer, and they said the episode should air in Sept. of 2017. As of now, no signs point to the Copper Rocket episode appearing in Season 6, and that truly is a damn shame. Even though the bar has since been gutted and re-TV'd, the Jon Taffering of Copper Rocket is a lost piece of Central Florida history.
The public deserves to see this episode.
So, please, anyone with access to even a 30-second clip, release it. It is your duty.
On a related note, the new "unrescued" Copper Rocket Pub will reopen Saturday, Feb. 3.
